Why ductless

Rowhomes were never built for central air.

Older South Philadelphia rowhomes were never built for central air. There is no room for bulky ductwork. A ductless mini-split solves that. It heats and cools your home without tearing open walls.

Piccione's Heating & Cooling installs ductless mini-splits across South Philadelphia. Owner Victor Piccione works in these rowhomes every week. He knows how to fit a system into a tight, party-wall home.

You get honest pricing and clean work. No surprise fees. No hard upsell. Just steady comfort in every room.

★★★★★

"We opted to replace our mini-split system. Victor's team worked tirelessly to make sure our new system was set up properly and as soon as possible. They brought us a lot of peace of mind."

Rowhome reality

Built for rowhomes and party walls

Rowhomes share side walls with your neighbors. You cannot mount the outdoor unit on those walls. We place it in the front, in the back, or on a flat roof. We pick the cleanest, quietest spot.

Tall, narrow homes trap heat upstairs. The top floor bakes while the first floor stays cool. A multi-zone system puts a head on each floor. You control each room on its own.

  • Indoor head on every floor, each on its own setting
  • Outdoor unit in the front, in the back, or on the flat roof
  • Shared party walls stay clear, on both sides
  • Trapped heat on the top floor, finally under control

Sizing your system

Single-zone or multi-zone: which you need

Both run off one outdoor unit. The difference is how many rooms you want to control. Tap through to compare.

A multi-zone system covers the whole home. One outdoor unit can run up to five indoor heads. Each room gets its own setting. This is the common fix for a hot upstairs and a cold downstairs.

Common questions

Ductless mini-split questions, answered

The ten things South Philly homeowners ask us most, before they book the free estimate.

Every home and system is different. Your price depends on the number of zones and the unit you pick. It also depends on how the lines run through your home. Some brands cost more than others. We give you one clear price with a free in-home estimate. No surprise fees.

Yes. We offer financing through Hearth. You can apply in minutes and pick a monthly plan. It is a simple way to spread the cost of a new system.

Most installs take one to three days. Bigger systems and tricky layouts take longer. A single-room system is often done in one day. You get a clear timeline with your free estimate.

No. That is the whole point of a ductless system. It moves heat through a small line set, not ducts. It is a great fit for rowhomes with no duct space.

It does both. A mini-split is a heat pump. It cools in summer and heats in winter. One quiet system covers the whole year.

Not on the shared side walls. We place it in the front, in the back, or on a flat roof. We find the cleanest spot that keeps it quiet and out of the way.

One outdoor unit can run up to five indoor heads. Each head cools its own room. We size the system to your home during the free visit.

The indoor head is visible on the wall. The upfront cost is higher than a window unit. For most rowhomes, the quiet comfort and low bills are worth it. We give you honest advice either way.

Yes. We service and repair ductless systems. We also deep clean the indoor coil and the outdoor unit. Ask about a tune-up for a system you already own.

Yes. We are licensed and insured in Pennsylvania. Our license number is PA214831. You are hiring a real, accountable local pro.
